Funding at BNDES or FINEP as an alternative to private credit

It’s not necessary to say much to summarize the current scenario: high interest rates, scarce credit due to the Retail crisis, international scenario in monetary contraction…

It is also nothing new that here in Brazil, businesspeople have learned to cope in the face of so much volatility and uncertainty. In this sense, BNDES or FINEP funding lines are another alternative source of capital for medium and small companies to position themselves. To access this type of resource, there are two fundamental elements for success: patience and organization.

The fundraising process, until the moment the resource is released — money in the account — can take a long time in some cases. At the same time, the more organized and faster the company requesting the resource, the faster the steps occur. Today, the entire documentary process is completely digitalized, so it was very easy from a bureaucratic point of view.

Funding takes place directly with BNDES and/or FINEP without any intermediary bank being necessary in the process.

The interest rate may be much lower than current market rates. Not to mention that most operations have a grace period on the principal and long payment terms.
